Since semi-solid Flush Doors were first manufactured, much research has gone into finding the best filling for the core. All the properties of a good Flush Door depend on the design and construction of the filling. The solution was evolved by a scandinavian designer in the form of Placrol Core Doors. The new core consists of hundreds of wooden spirals which are machined to a uniform size and thickness and permanently resin-bonded on both sides, This is the most economical revolutionary construction which has all the desired qualities.

Extra wood inforcement is provided on periphery to support iron mongery and mortice locks, tower bolts etc, However internal construction must be referred to or understood properly before fitting door hardwares.

GIC has installed special automatic machines in their factory, which enables them to manufacture these doors for the first time in India. These are manufactured in general conformity to BIS 2191 Part-I 1966 and are available in a given range of standard sizes. A complete door weights approximately 12 to 16 Kg. Best quality kiln dried timber is used throughout. The resin sealed semi-solid core will support the face under a compression test of 4000 lbs per Square inch vertically.
